ハロルド・ブルーム（Harold Bloom）
1930年7月、アメリカ合衆国ニューヨーク市ブロンクスに生まれる。コーネル大学で M. H. Abrams の指導を受け、イェール大学大学院に進む。1955年よりイェール大学で教鞭をとり、1978年にはスターリング教授（卓越教授）となった。1988年にはニューヨーク大学ベルグ教授（冠教授）を兼任した。1984年から学術書出版社のチェルシーハウスの依頼を受けて、600冊有余の批評書の編纂にあたった。2019年10月コネチカット州ニューヘブンで亡くなる（89歳）。
